![]() ![]() Josh! You turned down Batman for this?! I guess pretty boys are dumb… Hollywood Homicide is an attempt to be funny and mock the music industry while also solving an intriguing murder case. Too bad it fails in both instances. Everything about this movie is lame. So basically I guess I’m supposed to laugh because Harrison Ford is a bitter cop whose out of cash and soon to be out of his old partner, youngun Hartnett. Hartnett is leaving to pursue and acting career which Ford heartily scoffs at and because you know, it’s funny because HE’S actually an actor in real life. Har har. So some people start to die and you really don’t care who or why because they don’t develop that storyline at all even though “homicide” is in the title of the freaking movie. Instead they have numerous scenes of Ford trying to sell Martin Landau’s mansion rather then provide clues about the murder. Martin Landau as another bitter old man…not that funny. The grumpy old men schtick is really failing these days guys. Give it a rest. Harrison Ford really needs to stop banging Callista and do a decent movie. Sorry to be so graphic but he was Indiana Jones and Han Solo (!) and now he’s reduced to this stuff. I see that it’s trying to be tongue in cheek and talk about the superficiality of Hollywood but it’s not that funny. And I’m fairly easily amused (Scary Movie, The Hot Chick). It’s not ridiculously hideous like Old School, but pretty blah along the whole way. They try to capitalize off the fact that Hartnett is a womanizer (shown through the fact that he can’t remember any of his flings names) with a heart and his attempt at acting, but his real life acting isn’t that good either so I don’t know what they were making fun of. Harrison Ford being so grumpy is really annoying is well. He’s like this cop evading Repo men and he’s sporting attitude to everyone around him. It was also gross to see him and Lena Olin make out. I’m all for old people love, I just never want to see it. Or hear it, or know about it. Luckily I saw this for free which gave it some positive feelings. I don’t know, maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for this film. I saw it at noon and usually that’s not a good time for mediocre flicks with annoying characters. *Shrug* |
