![]() ![]() ![]() I'm the shizzle, fo rizzle...uh, Scuzizzle. Heh, this movie just gets you into bad gangster lingo. Don't worry, though, coming from an asian girl this is still far worse than Jamie's Kennedy's bad impression in the movie. Nevertheless, Malibu's Most Wanted has enough funny moments to keep you interested. So, if you've ever seen Jamie Kennedy's JKX or JXK (whatever his show is called) you know that all he does is make bad impersonations. Well imagine one very long and bad impression of Eminem, except not from Detroit, but from dun dun duh!!...Malibu. It's pretty funny because you know people like this who pretend they are all ghetto in their BMW 750 or whatever, just to keep in with the times. Posers to the max dude and B-Rad is the king of them all. So basically B-Rad is the son of a rich Malibu politician running for position of the mayor of Malibu. Unfortunately his son keeps jacking his chances with dumb stunts so his advisors decide to try and reform the boy by kidnapping him and showing him the REAL hood. Obviously this movie is fantasy because I think if B-Rad were actually taken to the hood acting how he acts, he would have been dead within seconds. No one likes to see a skinny poser's white ass crack showing. Heck, I would have done it even. But of course B-Rad isn't shot. He's made fun of a little at first, but eventually gets accepted into a realm of black gangsters making a big poignant statement about the insignificance of color. Actually no, the movie tries to lead us to this conclusion but basically its just a dumb comedy with some pretty hilarious random scenes (the Indian poser and his uncle's x-mas gift is just hilarious). Enjoy if you are in the non thinking mood. Not much to say about production value. The movie got made for $15 million for crying out loud. Jamie Kennedy is the usual goofball he normally plays. Though his character B-Rad is pretty bold and funny at first, he crosses the fine line of annoyance pretty quickly. After a while you really want to just slap the boy into reality. I don't know if it was his performance or what. In fact, his character pales in comparison to Taye Digg's guy. Ok, there is probably some bias because Diggs is hot, but his Julliard graduate guy is freaking hilarious. The scenes where they try to learn how to be gansters is priceless. And while Regina Hall isn't that memorable in the movie, I dig her from Scary Movie, so she's worth watching too. It's a dumb comedy. I'm not going to lie. if you don't like random, stupid humor then it's probably not for you. But then again, you should always try something once right? Come on now, don't be hatin'. |
