![]() ![]() On the whole, I generally like horror movies. I guess that’s why I keep watching them. Tsk tsk. Yeah I don’t know what I really expected. I guess I was lured to this film more for Faith (Eliza Dushku) than the premise or storyline. Cannibal monsters created from inbreeding. Who doesn’t like films about incest gone wrong huh? Well if the monsters looked semi cool and the people were actually likable then maybe…but no, apparently that’s too much to ask. I would talk about the story but you don’t really go to watch these films for the story. Besides I think cannibalistic monsters created from inbreeding says it all. Basically these guys live in the woods of West Virginia, and some campers and a doctor (??? We don’t really know because the movie hints at it then runs away and says “tee hee”) stumble into their territory. Chases and bloody violence ensues. Why is it that people in horror movies must act semi retarded. I think I can say that with ease as I am sitting at home with my blankie in one hand and obviously not in that situation but come on…Chicks that bitch and whine must go! If you don’t want to live then just die, and stop dragging everyone else down with you. You know who I’m talking about Emmanuelle. Damn your character! Other than her the people were ok (and obviously very expendable). Faith was pretty good as usual. And chicks that sport wife beaters are hot so bonus stake for that fact. I don’t know who Stan Winston is but he didn’t do a very good job at the makeup and effects. They looked like “Planet of the Apes” rejects! I don’t know what inbred monsters would look like but that’s definitely not what I imagined. Come on, put some effort into it. Don’t use rubber masks in Paul Bunyan wear! That’s not scary! (ok it kind of is…3 AM here and alone!) A Michael Jackson mask would have been worse even. Ok, one thing is for sure. I am never walking or camping in the freaking woods. Even without these monsters it was hella scary. Trees, darkness…not my bag baby. Bad horror movie, also not my bag. |
